Details: Securing the date as the calendar is filling up fast. A work in progress. Late start so the drivers can get themselves psyched-up. The plan is to start with a short forest drive of about 90 minutes with the girls at the helm then drop-off the walkers (ladies) amongst the group, for a relatively easy, 90 minute, forest walk (6km) adeptly led up the garden path, by Doris. Meanwhile, Paddy and the boys will relocate to the destination by vehicle (what's left of it anyway ;-) where the arduous BBQ preparations will be undertaken = have a cold drink, entertain/mind the kids, talk 4x4 stuff, press green button on BBQ. BBQ about 3:30pm onwards. Plenty of shade, grassed areas, toilets etc. $11 National Park entry fee for vehicles without annual pass. Sorry, no pets. One more thing; if there is a licensed female driver in the vehicle, then they are the driver for the forest drive. NB. The drive won't be scary... and yes ladies, we will be keeping score ;-) All welcome; even if the driver sports an X chromosome - somebody's gotta slice the onions anyway. Lads - it's the girls day off, so please take care of the catering.

28th - July 3rd: Expolreoz.com 2010 Gathering in Wiluna
Meeting place:Muchea Park
Meeting time:07:00am
Trip leader:Rusty    Email Rusty
Tail end:Bluey     Email Bluey
Rating:**
Details: The Exploreoz 2010 National Gathering is being held in Western Australia and advise the venue will be the Gunbarrel Laager Travelers Rest (just outside of Wiluna township). Wiluna is adequately serviced to enable a full restock of supplies from the Gunbarrel Groceries store/servo and the Gunbarrel Laager is a suitable quiet spot to rest and recouperate. This Gathering has the interest and support of the Wiluna Shire Council who are keen to organise a number of local activities for us such as traditional damper making by Aboriginal people from the town and a display of their art from the Tjukurba Gallery, both to be held out at the Laager. The gathering coincides with the peak travel season either within/or week before most states July school holidays. We may not have official activities through the full 5 days but this is the week in which we aim to hold the gathering - the official activities will probably be held on 3 days and the days either side give leeway for people arriving/departing so with a more casual theme. Day trips and activities around the town will be organised. Some other ideas for activities/games during the gathering are: * The EO Amazing Race - vehicle based Wiluna version with questions, clues, roadblocks, and riddles to solve in and around the Wiluna shire region; and * A special takehome gift/activity for every participant (1 per vehicle) curtesy of ExplorOz (this is a secret project so sorry no more clues).
